Happy Holidays!!!
Happy Holidays!!!

Yes, the holiday season is a time for celebration and reflection. But, it should also be a time to relax and have a little fun. So, with apologies to Clement Clarke Moore and in hopes of starting your holidays off with a smile, I offer this holiday classic.

An SHC Day Before Christmas

‘Twas the day before Christmas and all through the land,
Not a hospital was stirring, we’d given them a hand.
Our nurses were working, our therapists too.
Each order was filled, our workday was through.

Our RMs were nestled all snug in their houses,
While SMs relaxed like quiet little mouses.
DMs were calm, ready for a long winter’s nap,
Their RVPs so peaceful, the season a wrap.

When down in Atlanta, there arose such a clatter
It was Jacoutot’s cell phone, what was the matter?
He sprang to his feet, all ready to LAER
To see what was wrong, to show that we care.

The phone had some static, it was hard to hear,
But never the less, the caller’s panic was clear.
“We have quite a mess, it’s an emergency need,”
Said the jolly old voice, beginning to plead.

“My elves are all sick, my clinic’s over run!
There’s no laughing or building, the place is so glum!
And my reindeer it seems have had such a wreck,
They have bruises and sprains, each have a bad neck.”

Please help me my friends, my big night’s at risk,
From ailments, and illness and many a slipped disk.
I need nurses and PTs and OTs right quick.”
We knew in a minute, we must help old St. Nick!

More rapid than eagles, Mike did proclaim,
He whistled and shouted and called them by name:

“Now Pat, now Mary Ann!
Do what you can.
Rally your team,
Give us a plan.
Call Stephanie and Caroline,
Then call for Jim
John David and Jonathan,
Don’t forget them.
Call Laura and Kathy
We must give it our all
Then call Natasha
It’s time to stand tall.”

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
They called each division, each girl and each guy.
From Boston to Fresno, each jumped to the task.
From Dallas to Buffalo, they had but to ask.

Santa needs us, it’s clear, this holiday season.
Supplemental Health Care will be the reason,
That stockings are filled and presents arrive,
That people are happy, healthy and alive.

They spoke not a word, but logged into TRM,
Typed in their search and it worked like a gem.
Every job was filled, needs were met to the letter,
The elves soon recovered and the reindeer got better.

The toys, they got made and the bags soon were full,
The sleigh was all packed and ready to pull.
Yes, our work here was done, our job quite complete,
But to our surprise, we got one last treat.

In front of our wondering eyes should appear,
But little St. Nicklaus, the man of the year.
His eyes – how they twinkled! His dimples, how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!

With a wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
He took out his pipe, and here’s what he said,
“Thank you so much for helping me manage,
You’ve proven to me the Supplemental Advantage”

“The holiday is saved, you should all be proud,
It’s obvious to me you stand out from the crowd.”
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
“May your holidays be merry, and full of delight!”

From my family to yours, and from me to you, have a happy and safe holiday season.

Sincerely,

Mike Jacoutot
